Contrary to the monastic vibe of Hollywood, these artist innovate constantly. Although these are more on the side of gimmicky than master storytelling, this kind of audience immersion is working very well for the video game world; it could break into new ground for the mostly unchanged (if you don't count 3D and CGI, which have little effect on the narrative) movie industry.
